Postnatal care

Empowering you throughout the early newborn weeks
What makes this service so special is that you will get to know your midwife and she will know you. You will have open access to your own personal midwife via the phone or text whenever you need her, for complete reassurance and peace of mind, once the baby has arrived.
You and your baby will also have full access to all of the additional services that My Independent Midwife offer, including; enhanced infant feeding support and tongue-tie assessment/division included in your package at no extra cost!
The postnatal package includes all of your postnatal care after your baby is born. All of your care is provided to your individual needs and preferences. You can expect your appointments to last between one to two hours but if you prefer them to be shorter or longer we are more than happy to accommodate to your personal preferences. All appointments are in your own home and on a day and time to suit you-including evenings and weekends.
Postnatal Visits
It is our pleasure to provide you and your baby with care for 4 weeks after your birth. As part of your package of care you can continue to contact your midwife with any questions or problems that you may have. Your midwife will be there to support you in your chosen feeding method and Jenny is an IBCLC, who will also be on hand to assist with any feeding difficulties if they occur.

Safety Is Always Our Priority
We will support you with any complications that you may meet in pregnancy and facilitate informed decision-making, via a shared, multidisciplinary approach. We carry the same emergency equipment and medication that is used by all maternity homebirth services. We are highly skilled and trained to safely and effectively manage any obstetric emergency that may occur.
In order to do this, Jenny and Sarah work to the National Institute of Clinical Excellence – NICE – guidelines for gold standard clinical care. They are both NMC registered, and therefore adhere to the NMC code of conduct. They are also RCM and RCN union members. Aromatherapy services for pregnancy and birth are covered by Hiscock professional insurance.
